We Are Open

As Of Wednesday, June 24

Mint Room Covid

While our studio has been closed since the Ontario government declared a state of emergency, we cannot be more excited to finally open our studio doors again on June 24. With this opening, we are introducing some changes in the way we operate, to ensure the safety of our clients and our staff.

When you return to Mint Room Studios, you will notice a few major changes! During the time we were closed to the public, we professionally cleaned and sanitized our studio and installed plexiglass shields at the reception desk. We have also installed hand sanitizer stations and placed them by the studio entrance. And that’s not all!

Booking Process Changes

1 Hour Cleaning Between Bookings
We have made the change in our booking calendar to space out all sessions by an hour. This gives us the time to sanitize the rooms in between bookings and ensure that clients can go in and out of the studio without coming into contact with another party.

Security Deposit
Until the physical distancing measures are lifted,  our studio staff will only be present when there are multiple bookings happening at the same time. Otherwise, we will be opening and closing the studio remotely for our customers. In case we are not in the studio with you to check for damages, we will send you an invoice for a $300 damage deposit that must be paid before the session. This deposit will be returned to you the same day of your booking, once the rooms have been checked and sanitized.

Group Size Limits
We are following provincial guidance on group size limits for bookings at the studio based on the room size.  The studio capacity for larger studios such as Ballroom, Conservatory and White Loft is 10.  Library and Lounge is 8, the Nest is 5.

Cancellation Policy
We are waiving cancellation fees during the Covid pandemic.
Please let us know if you or your clients are not feeling well within 12 hours of your booking so that we can issue studio credit for your cancelled booking. You can also cancel directly on your account page.

Common Area and Makeup
Makeup table bookings will be temporarily closed to minimize exposure and traffic in the common area. If you need to do makeup touch-ups during your shoot, we will place a folding table inside the studio room, free of charge. All guests must wear face mask in common areas

Sanitizing Studio Spaces

Please take all of your belongings directly into the studio room upon arrival. We cannot keep any items for our clients and will be removing everything from the common area.

Our common area and studio rooms will be regularly sanitized throughout the day and after each booking, and we will sanitize all door handles, light switches, furniture handles, and other visible surfaces. Everyone must wear masks in common areas.

We purchased Germ Guardian air sanitizers with UV-C lights and will place them into every studio room while you are shooting, so it can clear the air and kill airborne viruses and bacteria.

In addition, we will steam clean all soft surfaces that cannot be sanitized, such as pillows, couches, and soft props.

We are asking everyone entering the studio to wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer provided at the studio.

If you need to move furniture, please get disposable gloves from the front desk and move the furniture back to its original place.

Finally, we ask that anyone who is feeling unwell to refrain from coming to the studio. If you have any symptoms of coughing, runny nose, fevers, headaches, or chills, please wait 14 days from the start of your symptoms to make a studio booking.

Hosting Mini Sessions at Mint Room

We will continue to block an hour between bookings during this holiday season, and for any mini session bookings we will give our clients 15 minutes before and after their sessions to help setup and remove items from the studio.

Our common area will remain closed, and we ask that the photographer booking minis instructs their clients to wait outside of the studio before the start of their photo session.  if you prefer to keep the clients inside the studio, you can book the 2nd waiting room at 50% off.  Contact us at [email protected] to book the second room (you will be provided with any studio room that is available).

Photographers are responsible for cleaning the space between their sessions.  We will sanitize the room once the photographer is done with their booking.

We so appreciate your continued support of our studios, and you joining us in following the above measures to ensure that it stays a safe, creative space for our whole community. We can’t wait to see you again soon.
