CHECKING IN
Mint Room studios is a spacious natural light studio split into four uniquely styled rooms. We’ve created this guide to provide important details that you should know when booking this space for your wedding photos.
Our studio rooms are named: Lounge, Ballroom, Conservatory, and Library. Each room comes with specially curated furniture. Make sure to double check that you have selected the correct room when booking.
NOISE LEVEL
Due to the fact that weddings usually happen on weekends our Saturday’s and Sunday’s are our busiest times. Our four studio rooms are divided by walls but are in no way sound proof. Out of respect for the other renters using the space please keep the noise level down to a reasonable level. If you have hired a videographer that plans to tape interviews or sound bites it’s always a good idea to let them know that there may be background noise from other renters.
PARKING
When you arrive at Mint Room there is parking right outside the building but keep in mind that it is only for an hour. If you will be staying at Mint Room for longer then the hour we recommend parking on Symington and walking over, Campbell Street between Antler and Wallace or on Campbell north of Dupont. The green blocks on the diagram highlight where to park!
SCHEDULE
Weddings don’t always stay on schedule and sometimes we can fall behind on time. If you are worried about running late we recommend booking more time in advance as our slots do fill up quickly. Due to the amount of wedding parties we host here our bookings must stay on schedule and extending time is not an option if there is a booking directly after yours.
STUDIO TOURS
When deciding on what rooms to book for your wedding photos we always recommend coming in to the studio for a tour so you can see them for yourselves in person. To book your studio tour simply email us at [email protected] and we will set up a time when the studio is free for a viewing, this is a great time to bring along any questions you may have so that we can answer them in person.
We would love to share your big day with our Mint Room community. If you are interested in having us take a few behind the scenes photos for our story please let us know as we are always looking to show off our amazing renters! Also, if you absolutely love your wedding photos (which we’re sure you will) make sure to share them with [email protected] so that we can repost, don’t forget to include credits and tags!
LIGHTING GUIDE
Rain or shine there is no need to worry about the quality of light at Mint Room. Each room is full of natural light regardless of the weather. During the summer months lighting is best between 8am and 7pm and during the winter months it’s ideal to shoot between the times of 9am and 5pm. If you plan on shooting later in the evening we do rent out lighting equipment so it may be a good idea to let your photographer know about that option.
We’ve attached a lighting diagram below to show the sun’s path throughout the day. Lounge and Ballroom will have the most sun in the morning whereas Library and Conservatory will get brighter later in the afternoon and closer to evening.
